BOAZ Myhill is hoping to re-ignite Blues’ promotion charge with a win against former club Hull tomorrow.
The Blues goalkeeper, who returns to the KC Stadium for the first time since leaving a year-and-a-half ago, is desperate to get the ball rolling again after Sunday’s defeat at Cardiff.
Blues have hovered around 16th to eighth place in the Championship during the past couple of months because of Europa League commitments and have won only one of the past six league games.
But Myhill is hoping the trip to Humberside, the first of three league games in hand, helps them get back to winning ways.
“There will be no room for sentiment there,” he admitted.
“I don’t know what it will be like – I’ll tell you when I turn up there.
“I am paid to win games of football and that’s what I will be trying to do.
“If you are three or four games behind the majority of teams, I don’t care who you are, you are not going to be in the top spots.
“It’s up to us when these games come around to take full advantage of them.
“The really good run we went on will become an even better run if we can get some points out of these games in hand. It’s important for us to make them count.”
It will be the first time Myhill has returned to Hull since starring for them during their rise through the divisions to the Premier League.
The on-loan Albion stopper made 277 appearances for the Tigers between December 2003 and July 2010 before moving to The Hawthorns for £1.5 million.
