Birmingham City: Guirane N'Daw reveals his thoughts on staying at St Andrew's

GUIRANE N’Daw has put to one side thoughts of his Birmingham City future.

The loanee midfielder admitted he was unsure whether he would be staying at St Andrew’s beyond December.

But in the meantime he said he simply wanted to concentrate on advancing his cause in Chris Hughton’s side.

N’Daw made his Championship starting debut in the victory over Doncaster Rovers.

And before having to come off in the 67th minute because of cramp, the Senegalese powerhouse made a big impact for Blues.

N’Daw told the Birmingham Mail: “I am here at the moment, that is all I can say. I don’t know any more. I just want to play.

“I have been here three months. For the future, nothing has been decided. I just want to carry on helping the team then we will see.”

Hughton took N’Daw from Saint-Etienne on a temporary basis.

The loan is due to expire on January 5. Blues have an option to extend to the season’s end on that date.

Prior to Doncaster’s visit, Hughton wheeled N’Daw out for Blues’ Europa League campaign.

He started four of the five group games, and also in the Carling Cup loss at Manchester City in September.

But his performance against Doncaster – Hughton decided to drop Keith Fahey to the substitutes’ bench – will have given the manager much food for thought.

N’Daw said he had had to play a waiting game.

“I know my quality, I had to wait for my chance and now, voilà, here I am.

“I have played in the French league, in Spain, I have experience and I have always been confident in my ability to be able to play here too.”

N’Daw, who was loaned to Real Zaragoza last January, was targeted for a move to England when at Nantes, his club prior to Saint-Etienne.

Wolves and Stoke City were both keen but nothing materialised and the 27-year-old’s career then stalled somewhat, due to sparing action.
