IT HAS been a home, sweet home for Blues at St Andrew’s.
One of only two Championship teams with an undefeated record on their own patch, Blues are tough nuts to crack in B9.
And it’s been just as well because on the road they leave much to be desired.
Blues have, admittedly, drawn four of their ten league games at St Andrew’s and in half of those outings, they kept plugging away to force equalisers in the 86th and 81st minutes.
But still, the points return at home in a very unpredictable division has been important.
Away, Blues have won twice and lost seven times.
West Ham United, who are in second place, have won seven games on their travels; third-placed Middlesbrough also.
Blackpool are tomorrow’s visitors to St Andrew’s.
And in the second half of the season Blues have both leaders Southampton and Middlesbrough to come.
But also six of the division’s strugglers are due at St Andrew’s.
Chris Hughton has made no secret of his desire for Blues to keep their end up in front of their own fans, and improve away.
“At home, it is a run we are very proud of,” said Hughton, whose side have only been defeated at St Andrew’s in all competitions by SC Braga in the Europa League in September.
