CURTIS Davies today revealed how contentment within the ranks has helped Birmingham City respond encouragingly from the post-relegation chaos.

And the centre-half stated that manager Chris Hughton has had plenty to do with creating such harmony.
January is set to be a pivotal month for the club because of the transfer window. But Davies, like others, said he was enjoying life at Blues and predicted good times ahead.
“That’s the thing when you are playing for this manager,” he told the Birmingham Mail.
“He instills that confidence in you by backing you.
“That’s the biggest thing for me. The manager has backed me all the way, having had a difficult start to my Blues career.
“This year I knew that if I was fit, I was going to play.
“I have managed to keep my place by form, not just staying fit.
“The manager has done really well for me and the others lads have bounced off that as well because I think regardless of whether you are playing in this squad or not, he treats everyone the same.
“And that is good because when you do get your chance you want to play for the gaffer.
“I think that’s the key to the way we’re going this year.”
Winger Jean Beausejour echoed such sentiments.
Like Davies, he has been eyed up by predatory clubs - although Blues have had no formal inquiries or offers for any of their players ahead of the window - but has no great desire to move on.
“I was always determined to stay if I could [in the summer]; I was, and am, very happy at the club,” said Beausejour.
“My wife and son are very settled and enjoy life in Birmingham and for me that is also a very important thing.”
“Chris Hughton is not only a good coach but he is a good person,” Beausejour continued.
