Levante offered John Carew and Nikola Zigic - InsideSpanish Football

La Liga side Levante have been offered West Ham United striker John Carew and Birmingham City striker Nicola Zigic according to Superdeporte.

Carew, is a familiar name in the Valencia region after a couple of successful years with Levante’s neighbours Valencia and has since become a success in England with Aston Villa and Stoke City before joining West Ham.

Zigic, also has experience in La Liga with Racing Santander and Valencia but endured a tough time in England with Birmingham Ciy and like Carew has failed to hold down a regular place this season.

Levante started the season really well and once topped the standings but have since fallen short in recent weeks and it is though that coach Juan Ignacio Martinez wants to bolster his attacking options.

Birmingham boss Chris Hughton will want to keep hold of Redmond but he will be tested if the Premier League big guns decide to throw their financial weight around.

Teenage sensation Redmond is believed to be valued at £10million.

Jake Jervis to extend loan at Preston North End? - Lancashire Evening Post

Jake Jervis is already talking about a longer stay at Preston North End following a goalscoring debut.

The young striker was off the mark within 16 minutes of his PNE bow at Rochdale on Monday.

His goal gave North End the lead at Spotland, before Daniel Bogdanovic pulled Dale level nine minutes later.

Jervis, 20, joined on a month’s loan from Birmingham City on New Year’s Eve.

At the moment, the deal runs until after the away game at Yeovil on January 28.
