MANAGER Chris Hughton has insisted Blues’ left-side conundrum can be overcome.
Since Jean Beausejour’s sale to Wigan Athletic, Hughton has started Morgaro Gomis and then Jordon Mutch on the left wing.
When Guirane N’Daw got injured against Portsmouth, Mutch came inside and Wade Elliott was given the detail out wide.
“Probably with Jean going, who was an out-and-out natural left-sider, it has left a void there,” admitted Hughton. “But it can be filled.
“I have played the two there (Gomis and Mutch), and Wade has played there.
“Nathan Redmond, who can play wide left as well, came off the bench and was off the front in the last game.
“We do have the players to play in that position. What we don’t have is that natural, Jean Beausejour type.”
What might not help for Hull City’s visit this evening is injury to Nikola Zigic, who is touch and go, and Marlon King.
