CHRIS Hughton has urged Birmingham City to look for inspiration from their European adventures ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup tie at Chelsea.
The manager, without injured trio Nikola Zigic, Marlon King and Guirane N’Daw, backed his side to push their hosts all the way at Stamford Bridge.
Although changes, some enforced, have to be made, Hughton said that would not mean Blues’ chances of reaching the quarter-finals lessened.
Altered teams stunned Club Brugge in the Europa League, should have got a result in Braga, and Blues also won in Maribor.
“No, it’s not a concern about having too many changes, with it being Chelsea, basically because of the players, generally, who come in,” said Hughton. “And we have gone to some tough places – Brugge, Braga – and made changes and generally given a good account of ourselves.
“I know Wolves are not having the best of times at the moment but to go there, a Premier League team, on their turf, and play as well as we did in the previous round tells you about this squad.
“I have to do the best job I can. We have a real heavy campaign coming up. The squad we have is a tight squad. Apart from the lads who will be missing the game, I’ve got a lot of lads who have played a lot of games and I have got a few knocks.
“But no, I don’t have any fears. I know whatever 11 I put out will give it a go.
