Brave Bromsgrove can't avoid the drop

BROMSGROVE Rovers lost their battle to beat the drop after tumbling to a 3-2 reverse against title-chasing Team Bath. It means Rovers will be relegated back to the BGB Southern Midland Division after just one term in the Premier flight.

Rovers looked dead and buried when Mike Perrott put the students ahead on 67 minutes before Joe Arnold added a second nine minutes later.

Brave Rovers refused to give up their Premier status without a fight, Josef Jakob pulling a goal back on 78 minutes before player-manager Duane Darby levelled matters with five minutes remaining.

But Rovers' world fell apart two minutes into stoppage time when Sean Canham headed the winner.

Halesowen Town will finish third in the Premier Division after being held to a 1-1 draw by Clevedon Town.

Scott Hendy headed Clevedon into a 70th-minute lead and the Yeltz left it until four minutes into stoppage time when substitute Nathaniel Waite pulled them level.

Halesowen will almost certainly host Chippenham Town when the play-offs get under way.
