Yeltz boss makes it eight

HALESOWEN Town manager Morell Maison has made his eighth summer signing by snapping up 21-year-old Aldershot full-back Dean Smith.

He follows Luton Town midfield player Sean Ridgeway and Swindon Supermarine’s giant central defender Cedric Abrahams to the Grove as Maison totally transforms his Yeltz side which just missed out on promotion to the Blue Square North Division last season.

Other long distance acquisitions include Aaron Cornwall from Chippenham Town and Jack Allward who has been recruited from Bristol-based club Mangotsfield.

Closer to home, Maison has brought in Evesham United’s highly-rated goalkeeper Nathan Vaughan, Worcester City striker Mark Danks together with fellow frontrunner Justin Rowe who has arrived from Sutton Coldfield Town.

Yeltz general manager Colin Brookes hinted at further captures during pre-season and said: “The players are training virtually full time at the moment and the signs look very promising.”

Former chairman Nigel Pitt is to remain involved with the club after taking over the role of president.
