Alvechurch duo Dave Dainty and James Ince looking hot

SURPRISE package Alvechurch have pointed to their new strike partnership of Dave Dainty and James Ince as the reason for their excellent start to the season.

Joint manager Jamie McWilliams confirmed that Ince wasn’t even playing football last season.

He claimed: “James is a real good friend of mine and was best man at my wedding. He hasn’t played much football for a while, but some of that was down to his work commitments.

“I think James played a bit of Sunday football with his mates. He also had a couple of games for Cadburys in the Midland Combination.

“We got Dave Dainty in from Northfield Town where he scored 42 goals for them last season.

“I know him quite well, because I used to play with him at Sunday side Travellers.

“They’ve done really well and already scored quite a few – but we’ve also got Jamie Rodgers, who has come from Stourbridge and Callum Gittings, who’ve scored a couple of goals as well.”
