Romulus keeping their feet on the ground

ROMULUS sent out a warning to the rest of the BGB Southern Midland Division this week after they massacred Malvern Town 7-0.

It takes their tally to 10 goals in two games but the Roms joint-manager Richard Evans insisted: “Nobody is getting carried away at the moment.

“We just turn up for every game and give it a go,” he said.

“No disrespect to the sides we’ve played so far, but we’ve got stronger sides to face and we’re going to have to play better.

“At least we won’t be relegated this season, but my only concern at the moment is reaching the 40-point mark”.

Evans believes he has a more structured and disciplined side at his disposal.

He adds: “We’ve still got 14 players from last season, which I feel gives us a settled effect.

“On top of that, we’ve added some new faces, most of whom haven’t established themselves yet – but they will!”

Arriving at Roms this season has been former Willenhall and Chasetown striker Sam Smith, Tom Franklin from Massey Ferguson and Malvern Town left-sided player Tom Lacey.

Liam Givens, who didn’t play for anyone last season, along with former Solihull Borough and Stratford Town player Jerome Grandison, completes the new captures.
