Solihull Moors still looking to strengthen ranks
SOLIHULL Moors will still be looking for further reinforcements to follow last week’s double capture of Kevin Spencer and Marcus Palmer.
Defender or midfielder Spencer has joined from Kettering Town, marking his debut with a goal in Saturday’s first win of the Blue Square North season at Burscough, while midfielder Palmer has signed from Gloucester City.
But with Moors still trying to cope with a growing injury list which includes Jake Sedgemore, Tim Gould, Andy Ducros, Jason Moore and Junior English, manager Bob Faulkner has not ruled out further dips into the transfer market.
Chairman Nigel Collins said: “The injury situation has been a nightmare. We will be looking to strengthen further should we need to and depending on who becomes available.”
Midfielder English could return tonight, however, as Moors travel to Stalybridge Celtic. He has been ruled out for the last two games with an ankle injury but Moors are optimistic he will be fit, if not tonight then certainly for Saturday’s home game against Droylsden.
Moors, meanwhile, have parted company with assistant manager John Frain. The former Blues full-back, Faulkner’s No 2 for the past three seasons, has left by ‘mutual agreement’.
