Karl Edwards in at Tipton Town
TIPTON Town have increased their already formidable firepower by adding former Chasetown striker Karl Edwards to the ranks.
Edwards has arrived at Tipton through his links with former Scholars skipper Ian ‘Chopper’ Harris.
Assistant boss Scott Voice – a prolific striker himself – said: “Karl hasn’t done a pre-season, so we have to get his fitness upto scratch. But he’s already had a couple of run-outs and done well”.
With Ravi Sangha, former Atherstone marksman Nathan Jones and Nicky Campbell to call on, competition for places in Tipton’s attack will prove more intense than ever.
As a result, fellow striker Jake Morgan finds himself out on loan with West Midlands League side Dudley Town.
Tipton made it three straight wins when they beat Boldmere St Michaels 2-1 this week, although the game reached a flashpoint when Andy Smith was sent off following a clash with Mikes’ one-time Coventry City striker John Williams.
