Yeltz fans' praise for Meir KA goalkeeper Richard Amison

HALESOWEN Town supporters were quick to show their appreciation for Meir KA goalkeeper Richard Amison – even though the Yeltz hammered eight goals past him during Tuesday night’s FA Cup reply.
Yeltz spokesman Colin Brookes said: “He was excellent in both games.
“If it wasn’t for him, we would have won by a great deal more than eight goals.
“The lad was only 18 years old, I believe, but he played so well at Meir that our supporters clapped him off the pitch.
“They went one better on Tuesday and gave him a standing ovation.
“In fact the whole side were a credit to Meir. Although they rode their luck at Meir, they never got anywhere near us during the replay.
“Although they were hopelessly outclassed, they never gave up – in fact they gave everything and were still running and chasing at the end.
“Once it started going wrong for them, they could have tried to cut it up rough. But they never kicked and scratched.
“I think our supporters appreciated that.
“It’s a good job Richard had a good game. We didn’t realise at first, but it turned out to be his mother serving the teas at half -time.
“I said to her later, it’s a good job we didn’t slag him off, otherwise we wouldn’t have got any tea!’’
Halesowen could certainly point to an embarrassment of riches on their bench during Tuesday night’s replay, which included Dean Brennan, Mark Danks and former Norwich City and Cambridge United striker Zema Abbey.
Brookes added: “We’ve certainly got some strength in depth at the moment.’’
Halesowen manager Morell Maison has decided not to take up an option on Kettering midfield player Dwayne Lee, who spent a month out on loan with Halesowen
