Church climbing the table

ALVECHURCH continued their excellent run of form this week with a crucial 2-1 win at title rivals Causeway United.

Joint boss Jamie McWilliams admitted: “We’re over the moon with the way things have gone, but we have to try and keep it going.

“There’s no point in starting well and then letting it slip!”

The midweek win over Causeway has seen the Church climb to third place in the Aspire Midland Alliance, with McWilliams adding: “We couldn’t have asked for a better start.

“The ironic thing is that we still haven’t been able to field our strongest side,” he added.

The Church have been boosted by the return of Craig Ball and Scott Richards.

The pair had followed previous manager Shaun Cunnington to Unibond South side Willenhall Town during the summer.

McWilliams added: “I don’t know what happened at Willenhall, but we’re delighted to have them back.”
