Cradley out to upset Hucknall

CRADLEY Town plan to cause a major FA Cup upset tomorrow when they travel to Hucknall Town in the second qualifying round.

Midland Alliance minnows Cradley have never reached this stage of the competition before but are confident they can create a shock against a Hucknall side bottom of Blue Square North.

Cradley manager Marcus McDonald said: “We’re not going there to sit back, we will attack them. It’s a game I believe we can win and my players are champing at the bit to prove it.’’

McDonald has a full squad to select from apart from new striker Dave Brown, who is cup-tied having already appeared in the competition this season with Oldbury United.

Halesowen Town hope to put aside their off-the-field problems when they host another Blue Square North side Gainsborough Trinity.

Manager Morell Maison will be without former Swindon Town striker Darren Dykes, who is cup-tied having featured for Rugby Town.

Maison must also decide who to play in goal, with Stevenage Borough’s on-loan James Russell and Nick Bussey both available, although Bussey blotted his copybook this week at Sutton Coldfield Town by being sent off for the second time this season.

Romulus will look to ring the changes when they travel to Unibond One South leaders Retford in the wake of their 6-1 thrashing from Willenhall Town this week.

Joint boss Richard Evans said: “I anticipate making eight changes from the team that played on Tuesday night.’’

Stourbridge will be hoping lightning doesn’t strike twice when they host Brackley Town at Amblecote.

Brackley beat Stourbridge 1-0 last week in a Southern League Premier contest.
