Gee: That was simply the best!

TAMWORTH’S first half display against Blyth Spartans was the best football the Lambs have produced this season according to assistant boss Darron Gee.

Even though Tamworth scored three times in the second half, Gee insisted: “The first 45 minutes was absolutely excellent.

“It was the best we’ve played for a long time. Blyth couldn’t live with us!

“Blyth had to change their goalkeeper at half-time, which helped and although I didn’t think we played as well, we were more clinical in front of goal.”

Gee revealed he soon received a phonecall from Worcester City boss Richard Dryden when the clubs were drawn to face each other in the FA Cup today.

He added: “I signed Richard as a player and we’ve always kept in touch with eachother.

“He’s one of the nice guys in football, although that will count for nothing today!
