Hollis agrees Rushall deal
RUSHALL Olympic have recruited Redditch United wideman Simon Hollis.
It means Hollis is reunited with Pics boss Paul Holleran, having previously played for him at both Solihull Borough and Halesowen Town.
Holleran confirmed: “Simon has started his own business and can’t commit to the demands of playing in Blue Square North. He’s not quite up to speed yet, but that won’t take long!”
Holleran has also taken AFC Telford midfield man Gary Fitzpatrick on loan.
The busy Pics boss confirmed: “It’s an open-ended deal with Gary at the moment, because I’m missing both Dave Haywood and Craig Marshall with ligament damage.”
As a result, Jamie Silver, a recruit from Walsall, has joined Alvechurch to get some games under his belt.
In the meantime Holleran has told his players of the need to improve after letting a 3-1 lead slip against Brigg Town last week.
Holleran claimed: “For the past 18 months, I’ve had players at Rushall who you could hang your coat on. Suddenly, we’ve started making mistakes and that has to stop, otherwise other players will come.
“I’ve been giving players the benefit of the doubt, but now it’s time for people to step up to the plate.
“We slipped back to fifth place in Unibond One South and that’s because we’ve been throwing points away.”
