Kidder’s cracker

KIDDERMINSTER Harriers pulled off a cracking 3-2 win at Eastbourne Borough to go second in the Blue Square Premier.

It is Harriers’ highest placing in Conference football since losing their Football League status four years ago.

Manager Mark Yates was able to pick the same side for the seventh game running, which meant the likes of Dean Bennett, Darryl Knights and new signing Neil MacKenzie had to bide their time on the bench. Striker-in-form Justin Richards rifled home his eighth goal of the season after 14 minutes to put Harriers ahead before Brian Smikle increased the advantage with a superb diving header.

Eastbourne hit back in the second half with goals from Andy Aitken and Matt Crabb. But sandwiched in between was a third goal for Harriers, which was fired home by Andy Ferrell on 62 minutes.
