They all want my scalp - Micky

Micky Moore

MICKY Moore insists that everyone still wants to beat Stratford Town more than anyone else this season.

Even though Stratford are sitting in the bottom eight, Moore still feels his side remain the major scalp for sides to take in the Aspire Midland Alliance.

Moore claimed: “When teams arrive at Stratford and see the facilities we have, they raise their game.

“We’re the ones they all want to beat and that’s something my players must learn to deal with.

“You only had to look at Coleshill Town last Saturday. They were well up for the game.

“We started lethargically and never got any momentum going. We’ve got to be on the button for every minute of every game!”

Despite having games in hand, Stratford are already 19 points adrift of league leaders Market Drayton and Moore admitted: “When you look at the league table, it already looks a daunting task.

“That’s why whenever we have a league game, we have to be ready for it.”

Moore made seven changes to the side which lost 3-2 to Coleshill for their Birmingham Senior Cup success over Causeway United.

He brought in former Oldbury United and Stourbridge striker Kevin Brookes, who responded by banging home both goals in their 2-0 win.

Moore maintained: “Kevin has been playing a few games with Oldbury Athletic in the Midland Combination.

“He’ll give us some impetus, but he’s not that fit at the moment and we’ll need to give him a month before we see the best of him.”
