North Birmingham - Ruskin chalk up win

NORTH BIRMINGHAM

RUSKIN Hall recorded their first win of the season by beating fellow strugglers Brookvale Social 6-3 – and that was after going behind within 10 seconds of the kick-off!

Unruffled, Ruskin hit back with goals from James, Gibbons and Mahon to go 3-1 up at half-time. Brookvale battled back to level through Toy, Silk and Botterill but Ruskin wouldn’t be denied and further goals from James, Dunn and a second by Mahon sealed the points. At the opposite end of the table, leaders Wyrley FC made it six wins from six games after overcoming Oscott Libs 5-1.

Goals from Cooper, Scully, Perkins, Newcombe and Green did the trick, while Libs grabbed a consolation through Maher. JC Lions squeezed a 2-1 win against SixTen after Smith put them ahead with a breakaway goal. SixTen levelled when Larmour’s free-kick struck the crossbar and went in off the goalkeeper but Lions roared back when Francis fired home the winner.
