Evesham dumped out of FA Trophy by Stourbridge

Dovey denies Evesham

EVESHAM United’s FA Cup heroics counted for nothing as Stourbridge dumped them out of the FA Trophy.

Lyndon Dovey completed the Glassboys’ 2-1 comeback win at Amblecote and put Gary Hackett’s men into today’s third qualifying round draw.

Evesham, who make their first-ever appearance in the FA Cup first round next Saturday at Torquay, had begun brightly when Mark Owen scored.

But Leon Broadhurst converted Les Hines’ free-kick for an equaliser and Dovey bagged the winner.

Ross Draper struck twice as Hednesford saw off hosts Stamford 4-3.

Draper and Elliott Durrell put the Pitmen 2-0 ahead after 10 minutes but it was 2-2 by the 23rd minute after Danny Cotton netted twice.

But Draper restored the Hednesford lead 11 minutes before half-time and then Ross Dyer added a fourth on 89 minutes before Cotton completed his hat-trick for the hosts.

Chasetown face a replay at North Ferriby tomorrow after sub Tony Onokah’s 88th-minute equaliser.

The UniBond team led through Bradshaw but Onokah scrambled home from a Vaughan Thomas header.

Sutton Coldfield Town conceded an injury-time goal to lose 3-2 at home to Glapwell.

The Royals had seemed to be on course to progress when they led 2-0 with a header from Aaron Farrell, and Neil Davis, volleying in from the edge of the area.
