CHRIS Nurse notched his first goal for Halesowen Town as they recorded a 2-0 home win against Mangotsfield United in their British Gas Business Premier fixture.

Nurse opened the scoring at the Grove on 11 minutes, firing home when the visitors’ defence failed to clear a corner from Aaron Cornwall.

Four minutes later the Yeltz, who included new Portuguese striker Reuben Gouveia, doubled the lead.

Another flag-kick from Cornwall curled towards the top corner and the Mangotsfield keeper could not stop it going into the net.

Halesowen were in control after that but second-half efforts from Jay Denny and Mark Danks both struck the post.

Atherstone Town continued their stunning start to the season after a 5-0 win at home to Rothwell Town took them to the top of the Midlands Division.

They leap above Leamington by a point after extending their unbeaten league start since winning promotion to the Southern League to 13 games.

Lee Greenway’s goal separated the sides at half-time, but Paul Devlin added a second straight after the interval.

Luke Barlone added two more, sandwiching a strike from Tom Bates.

Promotion contenders Chasetown produced a goal flourish either side of half-time as they hammered Stourport Swifts 4-1.

Harry Harris and Mark Branch netted two goals in a five-minute spell before the break, and then striker Danny Smith pounced three minutes after half-time before adding a fourth on 57 minutes to complete the rout.

An own-goal from Richard Teesdale provided Swifts with their consolation effort.
