HARRY Harris will remain a part of Chasetown’s promotion-challenging squad after deciding to turn his loan into a permanent deal.

The young midfielder had to decide on his future after coming to the end of a three-month loan stay with the Scholars.

His professional contract with the Saddlers was up at the end of the season but he has decided to leave now and try to make his name with Charlie Blakemore’s British Gas Business Midlands high-fliers.

“It’s a great signing,” said No 2 Mark Swann. “Harry has been excellent for us.”

The Scholars have been handed a further boost with both Richard Batchelor and Ben Steane making their comebacks after injury in Tuesday night’s Staffordshire Senior Cup win against Biddulph Victoria.

Batchelor, who broke his ankle at the start of the season, started the game while Steane replaced him for the final 20 minutes in his first appearance in six weeks following a groin operation.

The midweek victory earns Chasetown a second-round clash against Stoke City.

Hednesford Town are close to signing former Tamworth and Stratford Town striker Anthony Robinson.

The forward, released by full-timers Mansfield Town earlier this month, has had spells at Studley, Redditch United, Halesowen Town and Stratford Town since then.

But Pitmen manager Dean Edwards says Robinson has agreed to sign and he expects he will feature in Saturday’s UniBond Premier clash against FC United of Manchester at Bury.

Evesham United expect to secure the arrival of Cheltenham Town prospect Ben Pattison. The teenager, who can play in midfield or wide right, will join Evesham for an indefinite spell on “work experience”.

He is likely to be available after the weekend’s trip to Brackley Town.

Redditch United are hoping to extend the loan arrangement with Kidderminster Harriers to keep midfielder Sam Foley whose initial one-month stay comes to an end after Saturday’s Blue Square North fixture at home to Burscough.
