Extra training to give Sutton the edge

CHRIS Keogh expects his Sutton Coldfield Town players to have the edge on their rivals fitness-wise – by continuing training through the summer.
The Sutton manager has arranged for his players to meet up once a week on a voluntary basis.
Keogh stressed it was an option but the players are keen to keep in trim.
“It’s just a chance to blow away the cobwebs and keep in touch,” said Keogh. “We’ll do some running and get the ball out for a kick-about.
“You want the players to keep ticking over so that when we start pre-season we are in the right shape.
“I used to some training on my own when I was a player but it’s for players to pile on the pounds.”
The Royals, who missed out on the British Gas Business Midlands play-offs on goal difference, have re-signed all their players form last season. Keogh is also hoping to add a couple of new players, though any interest in Mark Bellingham vanished when the striker re-signed for Leamington.
