Kidderminster Harriers sign former Cheltenham Town captain John Finnegan

KIDDERMINSTER Harriers have completed a deal to sign former Cheltenham Town captain John Finnigan on a two-year contract from August 1.
The experienced campaigner, 33, has made more than 400 career appearances and arrives at Aggborough after agreeing his release from Whaddon Road, where he had one year left to run on a deal.
Wakefield-born Finnigan started his professional career with Lincoln City in 1997 where he featured regularly for more than four seasons before his switch to the Robins. Since 2002, he’s been one of Cheltenham’s most influential and popular players with a hustle-and-bustle, all-action approach from central midfield.
One of his goals, in the play-off final at the Millennium Stadium, helped win them promotion to League One.
“I’ve played with Finners, he’s a great player and he will be fantastic to have around the place,” said delighted Kidderminster boss Mark Yates.
“The only reason he is not playing League One football is because he has fallen out with someone at his last club – that is not a problem and we benefit from that. He’s a professional, a great addition to the squad.”
