Solihull Moors: Players not concerned by slow start to season

SOLIHULL Moors remain far from downhearted despite losing their opening games of the season.

Chairman Nigel Collins confirmed: “Obviously it’s not the start we wanted, but I couldn’t complain about our performances.

“We played extremely well in the second half of our 2-1 defeat against Fleetwood, while the first half at Alfreton was one of the best I’ve seen at this level for a long time.

“It could have been 5-5 at half time it was that good!

“However, Alfreton got a goal in the 47th minute and their tails were up from that point and went on to win 3-0.”

Moors remain frustrated at their attempts to sign Darren Stapleton from Shamrock Rovers. They are still awaiting international clearance from the Irish FA.

Collins admitted: “It’s becoming a bit annoying because this is the second week running that we’ve been without Darren.

“If clearance comes through in time, he should be available for today’s trip to Northwich Victoria.”
