Halesowen Town delighted to welcome back the big crowds
IT was business as usual at Halesowen this week.
Their 3-0 win over local Southern League Premier rivals Leamington was accompanied by a huge home crowd – which has been something of a rarity at The Grove this term.
It followed a boycott by Halesowen supporters as a result of their dispute with the former owner.
With the club now in administration, the supporters returned in force – much to the delight of manager Matt Clarke.
He said: “It helped create an atmosphere. Once the first went in the supporters gave us a huge lift.
“At the moment we’re just carrying on as normal. We can’t bring anyone else in because of administration.
“However, I already have a decent squad and it’s just a case of rotating them.”
The Yeltz have gone some way towards clawing back the 10 points lost after entering administration.
Clarke said: “There’s still close on 90 points to play for so obviously we have a chance of getting into the play-offs.”
