Stratford Town draft in new players

ROD Brown was forced to replenish the ranks at Stratford Town this week following a sudden string of injuries.

With key players Carl Motteram, Richard Softley, Barry Woolley and Leon Kelly all ruled out, Brown was forced to seek help from one of his former clubs.

He drafted in Bromsgrove Rovers pair Paul Lloyd and Jemiah Richards, while signing Bedworth United’s Dale Linton as well.

They featured in Stratford’s 2-0 win over Rocester, a result which takes them to fourth in the table after Jozef Jakob and Sam Alsop hit the target.

But Brown insisted he wasn’t surprised by the 6-2 reverse at Rugby Town this week in the Birmingham Senior Cup.

Brown said: “I struggled to get a side out. I had to bring in two players from the under-18s. It was simply a case of fulfilling the fixture. We weren’t that difficult to beat!”

Brown is hoping to have both Lloyd and Richards available to him for today’s clash with Tipton Town as Bromsgrove are without a fixture.
