Studley boss has high hopes for new young striker
STUDLEY boss Lee Adams believes the arrival of young striker Ross Dempster could be the missing ingredient to help stop their alarming slide down the Midland Alliance league table.
Last Saturday’s 1-0 reverse to Friar Lane saw Studley hit second from bottom and Adams lamented: “We should have got something out of it but we’re not converting our chances.
“At first, it’s annoying when we keep missing; now it’s becoming a problem.
“There’s not a great deal wrong with our game that a goalscorer wouldn’t put right.”
Dempster arrived at Studley on loan from Solihull Moors this week with an appetite for goals. The youngster netted for Moors this week in their 3-1 defeat by Birmingham City in the Birmingham Senior Cup.
Dempster will continue to train with Moors while turning out for Studley.
Adams already has Moorsman Alex Troth available to him on loan.
Adams is also confident of having midfielder Lee Hatfield up and running within the next fortnight.
The former Romulus player switched to Studley this season from Highgate United but was nursing a groin problem at the time.
Hatfield featured as substitute against Coventry Sphinx several weeks ago but aggravated the injury. Adams added: “Lee trained this week and his return will make a difference to us. I’m confident things will turn around.”
