FA CUP hero Nick Hawkins has returned to Chasetown’s ranks.
Hawkins featured in the Scholars famous FA Cup third-round clash with Cardiff City.
He then left Chasetown to join Hucknall Town in Conference North.
Hawkins also had a spell living in Ireland, but has now returned to his native Nottinghamshire and rejoined Chasetown.
Scholars boss Charlie Blakemore said: “It’s great having Nick back. He’s prepared to travel from Nottingham to play for Chasetown. He’s a good, strong midfield player. He just needs to get match fit and has already had a couple of games for the reserves.’’
Chasetown were held to a 1-1 draw by Carlton Town in Unibond One South this week where recent signing Reece Styche took his goal tally to six in five games.
But Blakemore insisted: “We’re just not getting the rub of the green. We have to be more ruthless in front of goal.’’
