Tamworth fear defender Dominic Langdon could leave the club

TAMWORTH fear defender Dominic Langdon is likely to leave the club – but they fully understand his reasons.
The full-back is a target for both Brackley Town and Rugby Town after they served a seven-day approach for the non-contract player.
Langdon, who is in his third season with the Lambs after joining from Rushden & Diamonds, has been a regular part of Gary Mills’ squad but he has been unable to dislodge Richard Tait from the right-back berth.
And with a longer term view in mind the Lambs accept why Langdon could exit.
“Dom has been superb for us but he has slipped down the pecking order,” said assistant manager Darron Gee.
“He wants to play, he wants to earn a contract and it looks like that will be away from the football club.”
If Langdon does go, it would leave the Lambs’ wafer-thin squad further depleted but Mills knows the only way to be able to add to his squad is by allowing others to leave.
The Lambs have also released Gokhan Ulker who has also become a target for Rugby.
n Chasetown boss Charlie Blakemore is hoping to sign a new striker to fill the gap left by the departure of Reece Styche.
Striker Styche continued a meteoric rise when he marked his debut for new club Forest Green Rovers by netting twice in Tuesday night’s win at Hayes and Yeading.
Blakemore, who signed former Hednesford Town forward Styche from Shepshed Dynamo, aims to move quickly to bolster his attacking options by introducing a new player in time for Saturday’s home game against Cammell Laird in the UniBond One South.
“It’s great to see Reece get the opportunity to play in the Blue Square Premier,” said Blakemore. “But now I need to find someone to replace him.”
n Alvechurch have confirmed they will face Wolves in their rearranged Birmingham Senior Cup quarter-final at Lye Meadow next Tuesday.
