Studley look for more goals

STUDLEY must share the goalscoring burden to end their season with a flourish, according to manager Lee Adams.

The Bees’ hopes of securing a top-eight place in the Aspire Midland Alliance have faltered with three defeats in a row before they bounced back with a 3-1 win against Alvechurch on Thursday.

All the losses had been by a single goal and Adams says there is a thin line between delight and disappointment.

“Both Jamie Clarke and Jamie Bailey have contributed a lot this season but the goals have dried up for them, and for the whole team,” said Adams.

“Without those two converting their chances, we have not been creative enough in the final third.

“But we’ve got to be honest, too. We haven’t played particularly well as a team.

“The front-line has done well for us overall but we need to help them, not only in attack but also by not conceding goals ourselves.

“At Easter time, when we played Alvechurch the first time, we were pushing for the top seven and now we are outside the top half. We need to bounce back.”
