Mansfield Town 3, Kidderminster Harriers 3: Boss hoped for a win

STEVE Burr felt his Kidderminster Harriers side could easily have snatched an incredible victory after turning a 3-0 interval deficit into a 3-3 draw at Mansfield Town.

A Jake Speight hat-trick had put the Stags in control in the Blue Square Premier clash at Field Mill but Harriers roared back.

Jack Byrne headed in Brian Smikle’s cross on 50 minutes and five minutes later Darryl Knights smashed home a second to give Harriers even more hope.

With 15 minutes left, Chris McPhee completed the comeback with a stunning 30-yard volley.

Burr said: “I wasn’t happy at half-time and I just said to the players that for the second half, whether it’s for me or yourselves, go out there with a bit of pride to try and get something out of the game if possible.

“At the end of the day we got a point out of it but we could have actually won the game.”
