Halesowen Town dealt injury blow after losing Andre Hinds

HALESOWEN Town boss Shaun Cunnington fears dangerman Andre Hinds will play no further part in their battle to escape relegation after a new injury blow.

The front-runner limped out of the weekend’s defeat at Cambridge City after just 15 minutes with a recurrence of a hamstring injury and he will be ruled out of tonight’s trip to Brackley Town in the Zamaretto Premier.

“I don’t think Andre will be playing again this season, which will be a huge blow,” said Cunnington. “He gives us that goal threat we need to win the games to keep the club at this level.”

Anthony Bruce (knee injury) and Peter Folkes (work) are also unavailable as bottom-of-the-table Halesowen bid to close the eight points gap to safety.

“It’s going to be a massive, uphill task to stay in this league but we haven’t given up hope,” added Cunnington.

n RUSHALL Olympic have been told to treat minnows Warstone Wanderers with the respect in tonight’s Walsall Senior Cup semi-final.

Pics manager Neil Kitching says the prospect of reaching a showpiece final at the Banks’s Stadium and the desire to continue a six-match winning run will mean he fields the strongest side possible against the West Midlands League Division One high-fliers.

“There are some lads that need games and some that need a rest so there will be a couple of changes but make no mistake we want to get to the final,” said Kitching. “You don’t often get the chance to play at Walsall.”

The Pics, though, will not risk Adie Smith, Mitchell Tolley and Ahmed Obeng after the recent flurry of games so Anthony Maguire, Gary Fitzpatrick, Danny Ashton and John Littler will all come into the line-up.

Recent signings Matt Lewis, Lei Brown and Sean Platt will all feature.

n ROMULUS will be without defenders Richard Robinson and Phil Male for their trip to Newcastle Town in the Evo-Stik Division One South.

The duo both pay the price for red-cards against Carlton Town two weeks ago.

Robinson will miss three games but Male will be able to resume after his one-match ban for Saturday’s return against Newcastle.

Manager Richard Evans reports no new injury worries after last Saturday’s draw at Stamford.
