Solihull Moors urged to dust themselves down to bounce back in play-off battle

MICKY Moore stressed Solihull Moors must focus on themselves, rather than their rivals, as they face another huge test of their promotion credentials tomorrow.

Moore has challenged the Moors player to “hold their nerve” after a stuttering run of two defeats and a draw in their last three games.

And tomorrow Moors, who still lie fifth in the Blue Square Bet North, tackle the title favourites when leaders Alfreton Town visit Damson Park.

Alfreton wrecked Moors’ history-making 18-match unbeaten run two weeks ago.

Assistant boss Moore said: “We haven’t become a bad team in the space of a couple of weeks.

“We’re having a fantastic season and though the last couple of results have been disappointing, we have to dust ourselves down and go again.

“There’s loads of football still to play. We’ve just got to stick together as a group and hold our nerve.”

Alfreton have won five of their last six matches, including a 6-0 hammering of Guiseley, one of Moors’ play-off rivals, in midweek, to move five points clear of AFC Telford United in the title race, with two games in hand.

Solihull, who were frustrated by a midweek point at Redditch United, hope to have Joe Clarke back in contention tomorrow. He was ruled out in midweek with a knee injury.

However, fellow midfielder Nick Green will still be sidelined with his knee problem for at least a couple more weeks.
