Birmingham and Solihull Bees announce Championship fixtures

BEES have finalised their fixtures for the 2010-11 Championship season having made the bold step to play virtually all of their home matches on a Sunday.
The club’s move to Damson Park in a groundshare agreement with Solihull Moors meant the precise timings could only be confirmed when the football programme was drawn up.
And while their league campaign kicks off on Saturday, August 28 with a princes-versus-paupers appointment at Worcester, the first home game at their new stadium takes place against Nottingham on Sunday, September 5.
Indeed the only two not to be staged on a Sunday are the local derbies with Moseley and the Warriors, which are on October 22 and February 18 respectively.
As well as the Championship, Russell Earnshaw’s men will also compete in the British & Irish Cup alongside Ayr, Rotherham, Doncaster, Pontypridd and Llandovery in Pool D.
Bees will also play three pre-season friendlies, all away, against Welsh opposition, starting in Pontypridd on August 7.
Meanwhile, Moseley target Sean Marsden has agreed a deal with Championship rivals Bristol after leaving newly-promoted Exeter.
