Pair in Moseley boost for Pirates clash

MOSELEY are boosted by the return of Andy Borgen and Justin Mensah-Coker for tomorrow’s Championship clash with Cornish Pirates.

Borgen has missed the last three weeks with a chest infection that forced him off halfway through his last game at Bedford.

But he has trained this week and is set for an immediate recall to the side, albeit in the unfamiliar position of full-back.

“You are always going to miss someone like Andy,” said head coach Ian Smith.

“He’s got a real enthusiasm, he’s talkative, knocks people over and brings a lot of energy to the group. He’ll definitely play a role this weekend.”

Also back – and likely to slot straight into the team – is Mensah-Coker who has returned from international duty.

The Canadian winger started both of his country’s defeats to Japan and their victory over Russia.

But compatriot Bryn Keys is out until well into the New Year after breaking his leg.

And Mark Evans drops out of the squad after suffering a reaction to the knee injury that has kept him out for most of the season.

The veteran back row complained of swelling and stiffness in the joint following Monday night’s A team match against Cambridge.
