Brace for Bressington as Stourbridge romp home

STOURBRIDGE kept up the pressure on the leaders with a 47-17 demolition of Harrogate.

Top try scorer Alastair Bressington added two to his tally before half-time on a day when he also landed six conversions for a 22-point haul.

No 8 Jim Jenner went over on the stroke of half-time for a comfortable 19-0 lead.

Centre Nick Wainwright gave Harrogate some hope with a try and conversion for 19-7, but fly-half Sam Robinson extended the lead again before Harrogate replied through scrum-half John Davies and Wainwright added the extras.

Any hopes Harrogate may have harboured of a comeback, though, were soon dashed when scrum-half Tom Richardson first ran 90 metres to touch down then

jinked in again under the posts. Flanker Tom Jordan battered his way through in the final moments to give Stourbridge a comprehensive win which keeps them fifth, two points off Blackheath in second spot.
