Stour swoop to snap up Cox

STOURBRIDGE have bolstered their squad by signing centre Paul Cox on loan from Moseley.

Cox has dropped out of the first-team reckoning with Moseley in recent weeks but will still be available to the National One strugglers on a 48-hour recall arrangement should they require his services.

The former Cheltenham player will make his debut for Stourbridge in tomorrow's game against Manchester at Grove Park which could see the Stourton outfit move into second place in National Two.

"Launceston lost last week and they are playing Redruth, one of the form teams at the moment, this weekend," said Neil Mitchell, Stourbridge's director of rugby.

"Henley also have a tough game against Blackheath so if we can pick up five points at Manchester we could be second by Saturday tea-time."

The prospect of promotion would require a major injection of cash to make Stourbridge competitive at a higher level and they are already interviewing for the club's first full-time commercial manager.

"If we got into a position to go up it would be too good an opportunity to give up," Mitchell said.

"The infrastructure of the club is being looked at at the moment."
