Stourbridge 32 Bradford & Bingley 3

STOURBRIDGE started the New Year in style with a five-try blitz of Bradford and Bingley to stay fourth in National League Two.

In truth, Stour should have won by a wider margin as they totally dominated from start to finish.

Flanker Scott Wit-comb signalled his return to the side by scoring after just seven minutes.

Bradford showed some brief resistance when Ali Chalmers converted a penalty, but that was all the Yorkshire side had to show for their efforts.

Winger Alistair Bressington breezed over for his 13th try of the season and then kicked a penalty shortly before half-time to put Stour 13-3 ahead at the break.

They soon increased the advantage when the influential Witcomb charged down an attempted clearance to score his second try.

Then Bressington bagged his brace of tries following a flowing move which began in Stour's own half.

Martin Freeman made it five when the winger sprinted 50m for a spectacular score.

With Bressington kicking two conversions, the win takes Stour within four points of second-placed Launceston.
