Stour aiming to seal club's best ever position

PROMOTION may have passed Stourbridge by this season but they are still heading for their best finish yet in National Two.

They are currently sixth, a place better than their best to date, but director of rugby Neil Mitchell wants to end with a top-four spot to lay the foundation for a concerted promotion challenge next season.

Club spokesman Ian Cole said: "You have to assume that we ought to be in a position to go for it next year." Stour head for Blackheath this weekend, who a place and four points ahead of them.

Meanwhile, Stour wing Alastair Bressington was one of the try scorers for England Counties in the 41-10 victory over France amateurs.
