Cambridge examination for Stourbridge

STOURBRIDGE will be aiming to return to winning ways this weekend when Cambridge visit Stourton Park for the first time in their history.

The Fenland side have made a more-than-creditable fist of their first season in National Two since promotion from Three South last year, sitting in eighth place.

Stour spokesman Ian Cole said: "We have never played them before at home. They have a bit of money behind them and they are a modern, well-run club with good links with the university.

"We beat them there 32-10 but we had to play pretty well to do so. It was pretty tight until half-time.

"It is always nice to play new sides. It means new faces and new friends.

"There is not a lot for us to play for. We are out of promotion and we are not going to be relegated so there is an end-of-season feel.

"But we have not been winning a lot recently so Neil Mitchell (director of rugby) will want to put that right."
