Robinson injury hit Stour hard

THE last match Stourbridge played against Cambridge, on Remembrance Day last year, marked a turning point in their season with the final appearance of influential scrum-half Sam Robinson.

He was carried off with a serious knee injury which will keep him out until next season.

Club spokesman Ian Coles said: "Up until that game when he got injured we won eight out of 11.

"Since that game we have only won three out of 12 which says something about how our season has been disappointing since.

"Fly-half is a critical position and we have a very good fly-half we have been missing.

"The three we have won have been against the bottom three sides. We have had some good performances but it has made a difference.

"It will be Cambridge's first visit to Stourton Park. They are new to this league. They have had about three promotions in four years and they have had a fairly solid start in this league.

"They struggled a little bit early on but they have found their feet since then.

"We will be without Jim Jenner (No 8) and Ben Gerry (hooker) who are playing in the Hong Kong 7s so that means Alan Keylock will play at hooker and Ramsay Dean will play 6 with Scott Witcomb going to eight.

"Ally Bressington, who missed the Blackheath game through injury, should be back."
