Waterloo 15 Stourbridge 18

THE Stourbridge promotion bandwagon goes rolling on after a close victory at Blundellsands to take away Waterloo's 100 per cent home record.

Stour went ahead through an Alastair Bressington penalty but tries by fly-half Jason Duffy and Italian international winger Nicola Mazzucato, the latter converted by centre Jonny Lowden, saw the Liverpool side take a 12-3 lead.

Stour, though, battled back and full-back Tom Jarvis pounced on a kick ahead from fly half Sam Robinson to make it 12-8 at the break.

Playing with the wind in the second half Stour took the lead through a Bressington penalty.

Waterloo levelled with a three-pointer of their own but Bressington ended the match as he had started it with a penalty to give Stour the points.

Stour remain second in National Two three points behind leaders Otley and seven ahead of third-placed Manchester who have a game in hand.
