Stourbridge ready to pounce on rivals mistakes

Neil Mitchell of Stourbridge RFC.

STOURBRIDGE go into tomorrow's game against Henley ready to pounce on any mistake by promotion favourites Manchester and Otley.

Neil Mitchell's side's odds lengthened considerably when they lost at Manchester two weeks ago but the director of rugby knows that, on paper at least, his side has the easier run-in of the three.

Stour, six points adrift of Otley and five behind Manchester, face third-bottom Henley at home tomorrow followed by second-bottom Nuneaton away and mid-table Southend at home.

Otley have millionaire-owned Cambridge (fifth) away, Blackheath (fourth) at home then mid-table Waterloo away.

Manchester travel to Redruth, who may be in the bottom half but have won nine of their 11 games at home followed by Cambridge at home and Blackheath away.

Mitchell says: "If Otley and Manchester each win their remaining games and go up then I will have no complaints and will give them a round of applause because they will have been the better teams.

"All we can do is win our remaining three games ready if either of them slip up."

Mitchell said Stour had their share of injuries but was making no excuses.

He added: "All we can do is go out and win our games.
