Jon Higgins urges Stourbridge team-mates to be more ambitious

JON Higgins has told his Stourbridge team-mates they have to be more positive if they are to end their barren run.
Stour have scored just two tries in their last three games and didn’t even manage one in the 6-3 home defeat to Newbury at the weekend.
And Higgins, who played full-back against the Blues, says when the hosts actually moved the ball they looked more dangerous than at any other stage. Unfortunately it was only in the last five minutes when Stour were chasing the game.
“We did not really deserve to win,” said the former Bees, Coventry and Worcester play-maker.
“We didn’t play any rugby until the last five minutes.
“We should have gone out with more ambition, the coaches told us to play, but for some reason we just didn’t.”
In Stour’s defence there is uncertainty over which backs will be available to them as they look to bolster their squad with loan players.
Higgins was forced to play out of position against Newbury with Sam Robinson starting at fly-half.
“It wasn’t very good to watch, especially from the back,” he said.
“It’s just a case that we need some consistency in our combinations.”
