Mark Evans set for Stourbridge debut

LOAN signing Mark Evans will go straight into the Stourbridge side to face Tynedale tomorrow.

The Moseley No.8 has joined Neil Mitchell’s men for the next month in a bid to regain fitness following a knee injury that has blighted his season.

The 30-year-old has barely featured for the Red and Blacks and with competition for places stiff at Billesley Common he has found game time hard to come by. He will not have that problem at Stourton Park, especially with Duncan White out for the season.

Indeed, Evans will not be the only debutant this weekend as Charlie Fellows has joined from Worcester, potentially until the end of the campaign. The young wing’s arrival makes up for the departure of Kurt Johnson, who has gone back to beleaguered Coventry. But Ally Bressington will not have completed his return to Stourbridge in time for this weekend’s match.

The full-back is in the process of negotiating his release from Cinderford and hopes to be available on January 2. Stour could do with him at a venue where the hosts have been traditionally strong. Bees’ victory there last term was the first by an away side for several seasons and Mitchell knows his side will be hard pressed to repeat the feat.
