TONY Windo is set to play his first competitive match for nearly three years this weekend – out of position.
The Stourbridge head coach has been pressed into action as back-up to hooker Liam Wordley for tomorrow’s visit of Otley.
The former Worcester prop, who will be 42 next month, will start on the bench but with Wordley’s neck still feeling the effects of a collapsed scrum from last Saturday, it is highly likely he will have to dust off his boots.
“I am full of admiration for him,” admitted director of rugby Neil Mitchell.
“When you have played as many Premiership games as he has in his career there are credibility issues. But the fact is we need some help and he has put himself forward.
“That says a lot about him because will not be the fittest he has ever been. But he will definitely bring something to the side.”
Stour hope to have loan player Sam Robinson at fly-half. The Bees man has struggled with a hip flexor in recent weeks but finally seems set for his first match since returning to Stourton Park. Greg King lines up alongside him in midfield.
