Cheltenham Festival: Five banker bets
EVERYONE loves a ‘good thing’ for Cheltenham, but equally we all like to find a few that may have slipped under the radar.
We mark your card with five banker bets.
1. COUSIN VINNY (Supreme Novices’ Hurdle or Ballymore Properties Hurdle)
PLENTY of smart bumper performers fail to make the grade over obstacles but that can not be said of this individual.
The son of Bob Back ran with plenty of credit to finish third in the Royal Bond at Fairyhouse on his hurdling introduction and he was mightily impressive on his next couple of outings.
A fast-run two miles in the Supreme would suit him down to the ground but equally he will stay the longer trip of the Ballymore.
2. L’AMI (Glenfarclas Handicap Chase)
LIKE so many horses this former Francois Doumen inmate seems to have found a new lease of life since since joining cross country king Enda Bolger and looks the one to be on.
3. MASTER MINDED (Queen Mother Champion Chase)
HARDLY an original choice but this is the banker column after all and he is simply impossible to look beyond in this championship race.
